Go Cats! I mean, Bucks!

This happy quartet, from left to right, are my cousins-in-law Matthew and Jon, and my cousins Maggie and Hadley. I did a paratrooper-style trip into Columbus, Ohio this weekend for Mag and Jon's wedding. I ditched out of work early on Friday, caught an early flight to Denver, then would up in Columbus by midnight. We stayed at the incredibly charming and atmospheric Worthington Inn - which my aunt informed me, much to my chagrin, will be turned into condos by this time next year.

The morning after I got there I drove around Columbus with my parents. We paid appropriate homage to the stadium of the Ohio State Buckeyes, despite their shameful and soul-crushing loss to the Northwestern Wildcats last year, which doubtlessly put their entire football program into question and raised the issue if they should even continue with the season or just throw in the towel for the rest of the decade. It's lucky they lost in Evanston, or else the entire Ohio State campus would have deservedly been razed afterwards. But I digress.

The wedding was on Saturday evening and was quite sweet - they even managed to get their doggie Archie in on the action. Everyone looked beautiful and seemed to have a stellar time.

On Sunday I met up with my friend of literally 25 years, Amanda, who is now a PhD student at Ohio State. I kind of kidnapped her so she could see my folks, and we all went hiking in a beautiful park area north of Worthington on High Street.

I flew out Sunday afternoon. As ever, I wish I could have stayed a little bit longer in Columbus. Them's some good people back there.
